Comment:

This was a CD mix for an international music swap. As my swapmates were from the U.S. and the U.K. I wanted to feature music from Australian bands that had enjoyed reasonable success here but had limited or no exposure in either America or Britain. This obviously precluded bands like Crowded House or Men At Work, although Ben Folds (during his Australian residency) and Rick Springfield did get a look in due to the particular nature of the songs involved. The first part of the playlist is generally very Australia (and Adelaide) specific, after a small instrumental interlude cribbed from the Mad Max soundtrack we come back for an encore or local artists covering world famous songs.
