Comment:
I made this for a mate of mine from Southampton. Essentially, it's a rudimentary primer about modern Canadian rock to steer foreigners away from the idea that Canadian music consists of Bryan Adams ballads and that horrendously overplayed Celine song from 'Titanic.'Feedback:
'the canadian government has apologised for Bryan Adams on several occasions'. I like Neil Young.
Hmmm...I never think of Celine or Bryan Adams when I think of Canadian music...but I do usually think of BNL. But then, they are one of my favorite bands...
I think there is a scheme to keep the good Canadian music hidden:) Actually my favorite band, Matthew Good Band, I would've probably never have found out about if not for mixes like this..Great mix
needs more treble charger and sloan. Good though! (Especially all the mgb!!)
The only things missing on here, IMO, are D.O.A., The Tea Party, Bif Naked, and Great Big Sea. Otherwise, good job!
what? no arrogant worms? i love your mixes, and i wanted to thank you for your feedback on mine. cheers--
ahh, great mix. i especially love the finger 11 song.
As I am obviously ignorant about most of Canadian music, I think I might have to make one of these for myself!
when i think Canadian music, I think The Joel Plaskett Emergency, The Super Friendz, The Unicorns, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Hot Hot Heat, The Weakerthans, Propaghandi, The Hidden Cameras, The Sadies, Thrush Hermit, Girls Are Short, Broken Social Scene, The New Pornographers, Kid Koala, Buck 65, Leonard Cohen, Neil Young, Hayden, DOA, Eric's Trip and of course Snow.
But hey, Great Big Sea is uh, good too?? There's more to Canadian music than Bryan Adams, but there's also a lot more than the Barenaked Ladies too. (Nothing against the Ladies of course)

Mostly quite, quite good. I might try something like this myself.
Great F11, OLP and Tea Party choices.
But, but, but ... what about Canada's two greatest bands? Rush and Cub?
lovin it!
