Okay, follow me here... When I was in Japan for my summer vacation, I met up with my x-gf. We made up, became friends, I gave her a 2-disc set of mixes ('A Blue Heart Painted Black' + 'A Black Heart Painted Blue.') + went out for drinks with some other friends of our's. That same night, I met this beautiful Japanese girl named Yuki. We hit it off well, + have kept in touch ever since. I told her I wanted to make her a CD; she told me she listens to hip-hop + R n' B; I said, 'Fuck...' I know NOTHING about either of those genres; I don't really listen to them, I dig a few songs, but would never in a million years call myself a fan of either of them. However... ah, the things we do for the women-folk. Anyways, after several days of scouring Kazaa (the only CD in either genre that I have is 'Arrested Development,') I finally managed to find a CD worth of songs that I actually dig. Is this any good? I don't mean to fish for compliments, but I must plead ignorance. I don't know anything about this type of music. So yeah, love it or hate it- I really don't know the difference. Down there... that's Yuki, + my friend's cat, Noraneko. Out.

aaaah, the things you men do for us women! heh. that's a very cute kitten in the picture--and I'm sure this CD will be lovely to her...women enjoy gifts of music, at least I know I do! you put effort into it, and that's what counts most. cheers.

interesting. having to rely on random downloaded things should make you want to know the genre better. at least, it would make me want to.

jaheim and 112 are mint however don't think youve picked their best songs as for the rest if this girl is a real rnb fan i don't think she'll be pleased with the likes of craig david and will smith etc....just a thought

Been off the site for a while so I JUST seeing this post for the first time today. Very well done, I admire the amount of effort that you put into this one (efforts what usually impresses me most...higher than musical taste). You're one of the good ones my friend, hope she liked it. Cheers! -AF.

thanks for your note...yes we do over think stuff way too much, that's just the way girls are :)
As far as your mix, it's not the best ever mix of love songs from the genres, but it is pretty good considering you didn't really know anything from there to begin with. Besides, like almostfamous said, it's the effort that makes the difference.
