13 ORIGINAL HITS BY THE ORIGINAL ARTISTS!!!First in a series made to spin in clubs on retro nights, at receptions and on special requests. The question posed before playing one of these tracks is: "Where were you when this fooker was released, eh?" Feel free to pick a track (or two) and answer the question.
Feedback:
Whats with all your mixes having this faux kiddie porn imagery? Its disturbing
Your mix rocks babe I like it! I was gonna go to time square during trl with my friends and some signs reading " Carson Daly is a massive tool" and "MTV killed the video star" also "I want my Mtv again" stuff like that, just to get em jaded. Later Sweety Abs
Yeah, what's with all the porno? Not that I'm complaining but ya know...
All models, actors, actresses and other persons that appear in any visual depiction of actual or simulated sexual conduct appearing or otherwise contained in at DJ Karen Adams' cover art were over the age of eighteen (18) years at the time of the creation of such depictions. Some of the aforementioned depictions appearing or otherwise contained in said cover art contain only visual depictions of actual sexually explicit conduct made before July 3, 1995, and, as such, are exempt from the requirements set forth in 18 U.S.C. º 2257 and C.F.R. 75.
I admit that some of my cover art is tacky, controversial and perhaps tastless. Disturbing, however, would not be an adjective I'd use but that's me. For those who didn't pick up on it, the cover art seen here and on a few (not all!) other mixes is intended to be tongue-in-cheek.
In THIS case, banana-in-cheek. Inspired by old rock, disco and funk album covers.
See SalSoul Records and Ohio Players covers. For example, Ohio Players' FIRE had a woman clad in nothing more than fire helmet and hose.

I never said it was kiddie porn, just all images are clearly trying to convey that image. I happen to be aware of The Ohio Players covers and to my recollection, they were all images of women clearly not that of "schoolgirls". I have nothing against sexual images and nudity in art like that of the Ohio Players. I guess my problem with yours is while the models are over 18 they are made to look younger plus the photo quality isn't at all artistic like the forementioned album covers. Your covers are to Hustler what Ohio Players were to Playboy. I allow you to use this image and yes it's tacky and DISTURBING to me. I find the imagery of teens and younger to convey sexual ideas in such tasteless manners troubling. I would like it more if it had some artistic merit.
My fondest memory of "Cars" was the Summer of 1979 in Calgary, putting endless quarters in the jukebox of Boston Pizza to play Cars, Heart Of Glass and Funkytown. I was 8.
Cool memory! Thanks so much for sharing with us. I must, now, find a copy of that Lipps,Inc. tune and put in the mix.
Men Without Hats 1983 - At a school disco sulking cos the DJ wouldn't play Club Tropicana for me, i was seven.
Thanks sammyg123 you're the best.
