Comment:
A place where Beatnik and Hippie can gather in peace and both read kerouac without feeling pressured. Yes, you guessed it, City Lights in San Francisco. I made sure Ferlinghetti was nowhere to be found. You can all thank me later.Feedback:
this is a pretty hippie mix. didnt know you had the side of you. but i guess a day alone in san francisco can do that. luv ya. -corey-

Not a bad mix, but what, exactly is "hippie" about Lynyrd Skynyrd (who probably spent a substantial portion of their youths in Jacksonville beating up local hippies for kicks)? :-) Also, aren't Dire Straits more "yuppie" than "hippie"? They were a lousy British pub-rock band who didn't release an album until 1977... And "Hey Hey, My My" is Neil Young's storming response (from 1979) to the punk movement... (Those comments were addressed to Corey.) Thank God you kept Ferlinghetti at bay, though. We certainly wouldn't need his yammering around here. :-) *yammers off into the sunset*
Additional to Rob's comments: Skynyrd were the band that made long hair on rednecks acceptable (de rigeur, really). I do so love that particular track though and the other one from that album that Prince, uh, I mean Will Oldham covered. Now I'm going to go get coffee while making guitar solo sounds with my mouth.
Okay, some of you guys take this shit way too seriously.
I do it because maybe I thought this thing was cool, I dont know. I was introduced to it two days ago..I like making mixes for myself, there in lies the problem. People want me to make mixes for them and then get pissed about the order or because the titles doesnt coincide with the titles, or something. So, I think my mix is hippie because it reminds me of the hippie era. I don't think people need to go around correcting other peoples mixes, or telling them they're wrong. A mix is an expression or a clumping of songs for one purpose. It's how they feel. Not right or wrong.
well, i like the mix a lot. It makes me happy:) rock on.
