Comment:

Mix for fellow AoTMr Marty Anderson. I know he likes Aussie/Kiwi stuff, so I included a fair amount, including possibly some he may not know about, such as Autopilot - a Beatles-esque indie pop band from Perth, and Mick Thomas, ex Weddings Parties, Anything, who has toured with Billy Bragg and Darren Hanlon is also a part-time member. The Sodastream track comes from their new album, which came out a week or two ago. Title from "Jeanne".

Really great stuff... and you even included my favorite song that I don't currently own, "Another Girl, Another Planet".

This title was actually my "personal quote" in my high school yearbook. (and I cannot for the life of me fathom why...must've though myself SOOOOOOOO debauched back then...) Jean is still one of my favorite Smiths songs.

I knew if I hunted through your mixes I'd come across Cat Power (my current true love...)

Cheers

Ever click on a mix title you recognise only to be greeted with a lot of artists you've heard of but songs you've not heard? That's what happened here for me. Well, it happens a lot with a lot of mixes I peruse and I just wish I could "Napster" some of these bands/songs to check them out as they reside in great company. Was pleasantly surprised to see B. Bragg's beautifully sung, stunted-ly played "Jeane". Definitely lending to the mood more than the Smifs or Sandie Shaw's versions. (oops, I'm showing off now, aren't I? ;)
