Comment:

A 2 cd mix for Steph. The other night she told me she loved the new Interpol cd, and how she came into liking them. It turns out, someone I know introduced her to them. The conversation went on to other bands she likes, stuff she's never heard, etc. and thus this mix came into being. Both sides of the cds start off in the 1960s, then 70s, then so on. I suppose, this is a musical history of myself (although no "indie pop" stuff as I know Steph prefers harder rock than that, even though I snuck in a few lighter tracks for interest). Also, this "history" ends in the 90s, as I'd rather introduce Steph to stuff that she may have missed the first time around, and not recent stuff that she can hear on either RTR fm or Triple J. I'm sure she listens to either one or both.

That's lovely - the Tindersticks song is my v. favourite of theirs and it's hard to go wrong with Television followed by Big Star. Great stuff.

A lot of great picks here. I think your first disc is absolutely amazing. Oh, and, my friend thinks Interpol is a lame Joy Division tribute band!
