Comment:
Another trade with Casetta. Tried to include some stuff he possibly may not have heard of, like some local West Australian bands on here - The Panics, Showbag! and Autopilot, and stuff I thought he may like. Title comes from The Sound's "Music Business" - one of the best songs about the "industry" - written by the late, great Adrian Borland, who took his own life the day the cd was meant to be re-released in 1999.Feedback:
The Sound? Great stuff! Always amazed me how bands like that could sound so HUGE & yet remain completly unknown. Another great mix Sue.
Looks great. My wife loves that Gene Clark tune, we were recently out and this open mic thing was going on where we ended up. She got very annoyed at the countless Ani-wannabees and decided she would to use the piano in the corner and did that tune. She also did "Cheese and Onions" by The Rutles. I was quite impressed.
Finally - "Elt" has made it onto the mix - I think he adds a certain depth to this nice exotic mix!
Wow, Casetta, your wife likes great music *and* can sing, you're so lucky! (not that I don't have a great husband, but he can't sing!)
This is such a sweet mix, Sue... as I'll be sending you four CDs this week, can this be one of our future trades? ;-)
See Comment about Free Fallin' K Of C on my Mix page. Drop an e-mail for a trade. List a few things you like. Nik
This is my first visit to the site after being killed in the VA ICU, and I have to say that this tape makes me smile. Any mix with a Gene Clark song and a John Denver cover on it is automatically cool in my book. Excellent job (as usual).
Nice job, I think that use of 60's,70's and onward gives a nice "layered effect".
I'm sure your husband is not that bad a singer!

ahh finally. a strokes song appearing on a mix by someone whose mixes i respect. i dont understand what all the animosity directed at the strokes is all about. it's not just about their music! people have problems with them as *people*. maybe im just clueless. nice mix--casetta is hard to make mixes for, but you didnt have any trouble!
I am not difficult to make mixes for. I accept all. The purpose is not to open my mind but share the combo and ART OF YOUR IX.
MIX not IX.
Yes, I love this mix too.
Yeah, just cos Tom's a *rock snob* doesn't mean he's hard to make mixes for! ;) And I'm glad you liked the mix.
this is great, it leaves me speechless.
