Comment:

This is the 'end of the line' for the Chicago POWER mix tapes. This cassette was compounded on 22 July 1996. It seemed probable that the franchise would soon be sold to somebody else who would then relocate it. But in the long, long shot that it actually did remain in Chicago, I elected to make one more mix tape. Another reason for wanting to make this mix was my subscription to the N.R.B.Q. E-Mail list. I had been able to pick up the most recent N.R.B.Q. cassettes (which had already been cut-out) for cheap, but I hadn't gotten around to putting any of their songs on a mix tape. If there was a category for 'Fat' or 'Roots' music in the drop-down box, I would have selected that. This cassette, which was the first one to have selections originating from both cassette & compact disc, was compounded on 22 July 1996. I posted an article on the making of this mix tape to Usenet's "rec.music.misc" and "alt.fun.with.steve".
