This whole mix chronicles a very mixed up but crazy and wonderful relationship between my best friend Joe and I. I've seriously fallen in love with him, and all these songs have a meaning in our relationship in some way, shape or form. The first song is "our" or as he calls it "my" song, because some of it speaks the truth. The Badly Drawn Boy only comes from the fact that while we both love them, "Disillusion" and "Another Pearl" reflect my view on the whole situation between us. And the Billie Holiday.... he dedicated that to me on his radio show. And one last note... the Meredith Brooks.... well.... yeah. Self explanitory.
