Comment:

Just a bunch of tunes to get me through the daily commute. Mostly stuff I've been listening to recently. From "old school" Clapton, to some 90's alt stuff, to the 50's [Eddie & Little Richard rock]. On to the Godfather and some remixed Byrne right into T-heads. [their 1988 "Naked" Cd is very underated]. I always thought that Dada would be the next big thing. I still remember the first time I heard "Dizz Knee Land". It was one of those songs, that you sat in the car in front of your garage after you got home, just so you could find out the name of the artist. I think they released one more CD an they were gone. The Clash cut comes from one of the best LP's of the past 20 years "London calling". The Police cover si from a reggae tribute to the Police. That CD never fails to raise some eyebrows at a party. Everybody knows every song, but at the same time, they sound VERY different from the originals. On to some 70's funk with Joe Tex and finally a demo of one of "X"'s best tunes. That band took the best of everything American, Punk, rockabilly and country, rolled it all over the floor and created something that should have lasted a lot longer than it did and definitely should have gotten a lot more recognition than it did. John Doe and Exene Cervenka's voices and lyrics are an american jewel.
