Comment:
i made this for tyler, to show him that there's more to music than godspeed you black emperor! and mogwai. not that those aren't probably enough...
Feedback:
I like the picture!
Wow...I barely know any of these artists..

very nice.. a bit random, but i'm sure that's what gives the mix it's charm :)
ah meg, such intelligent things to say about the mixes of others, and nice and obscure (yet not in the shitty try-hard indie fuckface kind of way) mix of your own. you go girl. soon, certain pretentious-ass mofos using this site to stroke their egos will know us by the trail of dead.
:) i like this site already.
what a rockin mix, i like the other one you've got up as well. you've got great taste :)

sorry for the double post.. aotm was being weird.. :/
Very nice (even though I only know about half as well!) But isn't it great to introduce people to new music? And to have them like it is even better.
which bands are people unfamiliar with?
Well, for me, on side 1, tracks 3,5,7,8,9 & 10, side 2, tracks 3,6,7,8,9 & 11 - what do some of these bands sound like?
VUE are similar in style to the delta 72, at least in my opinion. they played here with the rapture, if that puts them in a better perspective. david frye was a political satirist in the 70s...that track is an exerpt from a spoken word record he did. the fatal flying guilloteens are an excellent "cowboy hardcore" band from houston. "new" terror class are the reformed terror class...anybody want to help me in describing them? the walt disney track is taken from a children's record made in the late 60s, put out by the walt disney company...it's a halloween record called "the chilling sounds of the haunted house" or something to that effect (i would check but i'm in class at the moment)...
schmunks for you are a local punk rock band from dallas...that particular track is one of my favorite songs of the moment. panic in detroit are my friends' band...they are very steely dan inspired, very much straightforward rock and roll...uhhh i'm bad at this...
the impossibles and recover are both bands from austin. the impossibles are reformed pop punk i guess, but i think i would give them a lot more credit than that. recover are a melodic hardcore band...one of the best in the state. how to speak german is a really really old record that was my mom's...she got it in germany in the early 80s.
Wow, thanks for the explanations!
:) any questions are welcome
meg. you title whore. that's the title you gave to the last tape you made me.
btw...that last comment was posted by meg's sister, kate.
kate, that's the joke. stop posting under my name.
