Comment:

Well that certainly took me long enough. (: Made for a trade. The theme thing is a little misleading -- this tape was meant to be partly an introduction to Marlene Kuntz, an Italian punk band I discovered while studying in Italy this past summer -- they're one of the more widely known leftist bands in the country, started out as very indie and they've developed quite a following. They've cited Sonic Youth as one of their influences, and I think you can hear the influence in their earlier stuff, although they have a completely unique sound that I can't really describe. They're very good and god knows I only understand half of the lyrics so I don't think you need to know Italian to appreciate them. Anyway this is just an introduction. And it's pronounced MAHR-leh-nay KOONTZ. :) The cat power, modest mouse and nirvana tracks were requests as well, and the rest I just gave a leftist tint to make the tape sort of cohesive. I'm quite fond of it.

And you can't get more leftist than Billy Bragg!
