Comment:
Tape for socialretard. Some are requests, rest are mostly my initiative. The one's that aren't (my initiative) are my husband's - like Neil Young - he was put on there because we both saw Paul Kelly a few weeks back and he played an amazing cover of "long may you run", which made my husband rush out to buy the "Decade" cd. And Paul Kelly is on there, because, well, I have to admit that I didn't really like his new cd ("nothing but a dream") when it first came out, but after we saw him live, and with my husband playing the cd constantly in the car, made me realize he's still got some good songs in him. Local stuff on here - Sodastream (well, they used to live in Perth!) and No Flowers - who's song can be found on the "Kiss My WAMI, 2001" compilation quad cd release. Title courtesy of the "bard of barking".Feedback:
Lovely mix. And Neil Young is wonderful... no apologies necessary.
thanks, sue! can't wait to hear this. glad to see the comsat angels. though i didn't think to request them, they're a band i've always wanted to hear.
this looks awesome!
very very nice. personally not a big fan of neil young but everything else looks good- especially the aussie stuff!
Just peachy!
this looks fab Sue...and as for sodastream...well i never heard them until i got jaime's tape, but they kind of rule (something else to buy...)
neat! and i didn't know billy bragg had a "cindy" song [that's my american name]. we should really trade mixes sometime. ^_^ [let's finally do it, after this hellweek of exams is over!]
this is so pretty! aw richard davies! aw nm hotel, aw lucksmiths, aw delgados.. and so on. you see where i'm going with this? :)
this does look really really good. and i can't help but get all sentimental and nostalgic over "message to rudi." makes me wanna break out my black and white checkered socks....
Another prime mix Sue. Since your husband's always contributing suggestions to your mixes, why not let him compile a mix of his own to post. We'll go easy on him, I promise.
Well, Ion, I have asked him - and so far he has refused - so what can you do?
Very cool. I especially like the inclusion of Glide and the Chameleons. Is the Celibate Rifles song a cover of the Mats?
Yes, Marty, it is - it's from the cd "I'm in love...with that song" a tribute to the Mats by all Australian artists.
Its lucky that you have a husband that introduces you to different genres to compliment the good mixes you make!
I like the variety on this mix!

Hey Sue, you wanna trade sometime?
