Comment:

Have you ever made the mistake of promising the BEST mixed tape EVER to someone? That's me. Always imploding by self-aggrandizement. Of course, how can you create the perfect mix tape? How can you contain the perfect love song, the desperate haunting melody and the twidly jazz-inspired noodler on one C90? All this tape has ended up being is a bunch of songs I think my friend will like, a couple I know my friend won't like (mixed tapes always involve a concession or two, don't they?) and a few songs I think it's criminal for my friend not to have heard. Because after all, mixed tapes are beautiful because they stretch out the connections between us.

This is really wonderful. I like the presence of "Victoria" and "Polyethylene" (perhaps my favorite Radiohead song) and the Modest Mouse selections. Nice.

A flawless debut. Some of my faves are here--Dandy Warhols, Death Cab, GBV, the Shins...

The tape is loaded with dynamite acts: Elliott Smith, Built to Spill, Ryan Adams, The Strokes, Modest Mouse, etc. I love "New Slang" and "Polyethylene (Parts 1&2)" (obviously). Our musical tastes are scarily similar.
