Comment:
Definitely not a Greatest Hits mix, but mostly songs that have a personal sentiment. Some of these are off Dylan's "misunderstood" albums and a few are rare, live, or bootleg cuts. I tend to like the songs that fit Dylan's rough and gritty voice--some of these are even sonically attractive. Can't beat "He Was a Friend of Mine" off the Bootleg series.Feedback:
Definitely interesting. I'd like to hear that version of "Cocaine Blues".
i think this may be the best way to approach an all dylan mix to be honest. his body of work is so massive that i think it's difficult to even try to say what are his "greatest" moments (especially since i think his greatest moments tend to be obscured by his commercial successes or overall album successes--has anyone who ever claimed that highway 61 revisted is a brilliant LP ever given solo props to just like tom thumb's blues?) great mix.
Actually, Brandt, I did... "Tom Thumb" is one of my five fave Dylan tracks (see my mix, "Ain't it just like the night"). :-)
