Comment:

Tape for PapaMaceo. Not really any requests, so I thought I'd introduce him to some w. aussie/aussie music, like autopilot, the panics (who have just been signed to LittleBigMan Records of Manchester, Eng!) mick thomas, and the luckies. Can anyone tell me the connection between the cover of the Fred Neil track (done by Mick Harvey) and anyone else on here? Title courtesy of the Luckies. [addendum: forgot to mention - thanks to James Roberts, of UK, for the Her Space Holiday track.]

One day perhaps I will stop falling in love with people purely on the basis of their tracklistings. But for now, woooooohhh! or something. nice songs.

The Lovin' Spoonful features John Sebastian, an old friend of Freddy's (may he rest in peace). They used to play together a lot and John was one of the few people Fred kept marginally in touch with over the years. If there's a more direct connection (and there could be), I'm missing it. In the meantime, lovely mix (as always), Sue.

This mix is excellent. "Vapour Trail" is a song I could listen to repeatedly for hours. A question: I'm not familiar with Her Space Holiday; what does this band sound like?

Rob, you got it - I thought either you or CASETTA would get it. It's a great song, either way.

Marty, see my addendum - the Her Space Holiday track is courtesy of James Roberts - I don't know much about them, except that they sound great! I will quote from allmusic.com: "Experimenting with various electronic beats inside shoegazing seascapes, Her Space Holiday falls into the big sonic heaven of bands such as Slowdive, is Name Is Alive, and 7% Solution". Hope the definition helps.

Another dope mix Sue, and you even snuck in Haemophiliac for the third time I believe. It's a wonderful song that anyone who loves good pop music should hear.

her space holiday is basically a two piece electronic band from northern california...this guy mark and his girlfriend. i saw them play live with the american analog set and california oranges in Sacramento in spetember. really great but mark is a perfectionist and he got pissed because he fucked up a song (even though no one else would know it...) go to tigerstylerecords.com for more info. also, this is a great mix Sue. is it just me or is that lovin' spoonful track their greatest song?

I'd take "Younger Girl" myself, Brandt, but that's probably my second-favorite.

I am such a smuck! I have not been on the site to witness this piece of greatness that Miss Sue has created for me, and I am ever so deeply apologetic. This looks AMAZING, I can not wait to get my grubbie paws on it.
