Comment:

some random songs presented in "pairs" that also contribute (in my opinion) to a cohesive whole.

Unbelievable! I just recently bought that stars of the lid album specifically for that song...the kind of beautiful ambient music i could listen to for hours. Then i just received Apollo on cd and while listening to "an ending," thought, "gee this is beautfiul, similar to "music for twin peaks," and lovely enough for me to just float away." a perfect pair of songs.

sea&cake/l'altra = autumnal chicago slickness...slant6/elastica = catchy wild female rockers...T-rex/strokes = unabashed rock...tortoise/windsor = beautiful post-everything avant soundscapes...stars/eno = beautiful melodic ambient/drone...low/galaxie 500 = tuneful morose slo-core...genX/adols = catchy punk rock...idlewild/supergrass = very UK RAWKNROLLWOOOOO...handsome/casholdham = new-ish excursions in an old form...portishead/alpha = sensual, blunted jazzy grooves...bowie/pulp = over the top Brit-drama. just to expand on my theme. :o)
