Comment:
Tape for fellow AoTMr Nick. A few requests here, but the rest consists of a lot of new stuff I've picked up lately, like Montage, the Byrds "fifth dimension", Zombies "odyssey & oracle", Ken Stringfellow's "touched", Syd Barrett's "best of" and Neil Finn's live one. And just 2 days ago, I picked up a used turntable/cassette player all in one system, so I can finally play my old and not so old vinyl. Title courtesy of Syd.Feedback:
"I said 'Yeah'. Kinda catchy...". God, I love that Syd song...
Nice--I especially like the Kozelek/Goswell John Denver cover, "Waterloo Sunset", and "Wild Mountain Thyme".
This, as always, has some beautiful stuff on it. :-)
Congratulations on your new (or used) investment. I expect to hear some vinyl on my next tape! Great mix BTW.
the title is a LITTLE bit spooky...but rather effective. very nice selections.
very nice. and new music plus new components always makes for fun times.
this is fabulous sue...kudos on the Saturday People and Zombies picks especially :) oh and about the new TFC--i haven't really internalized it yet--i bought 4 bob dylan records and love's forever changes that day, and the love kind of shot to the "heavy rotation" part of my musical leanings right now...
love the title, the zombies, and the mercury rev :)
Fab mix, sue. Especially like Needle in the Hay into Help the Aged, and of course, Waterloo Sunset (the only other song besides Between the Bars that makes me cry every damn time)
well done as always, sue :)
Deliciously pop. Vintage Gorky's and the magical Mull Historical Society - how ace is the eccentricity of the British Isles?
phew! this stuff's great. i commend you for being able to access stuff like royal city and particularly howie beck, artists half the dimwits over here don't even know about! i was in perth in 2000, may/june. lived in mount hawthorn and od'ed on rtr for the short time i was there! you da best!
congrats on buying odyssey + oracle [back in jan 2002]. i heard samples from that on a sunday arvo in late-2000 when feeling horrible and immediately had to go to 78 records to buy it. 'care of cell 44' from that album is my favourite ever mix tape starting song, but most of the songs from that are pearlers.
