damn. what's up with the pulp track, though? is that some kind of "one of these things is (stylistically) not like the others" situation?

No, the mix is about class war and revolution, so thematically the pulp song works. As well, I find it fun to start out slow then kick you in the ass after you've let your defences down.

yes, THEMATICALLY the pulp song works (obiously). but STYLISTICALLY (which is what i emphasized in my original comment) it sticks out quite a bit, wouldn't you agree? it just struck me as odd to start off a "hardcore" comp with the only song on the mix that isn't even close to being punk in any way. it seemed like an odd choice, STYLISTICALLY speaking, like introducing an idea (namely, class conflict in pop music) only to discard it for a strictly hardcore exercise. not that i mind or anything - this mix looks awesome. it's just a curious way to start things off.

truth be told, the pulp song was added at the request of my girlfriend (sara of S&M). when she hears it she thinks and feels revolution. i can certainly see why it is a debatable addition, but that's half the fun. regardless i appreciate all your comments teapin.
