For once, a mix I've made for MYSELF. This is about being in love with your best friend, who happens to be already taken--a situation I'm unfortunately embroiled in right now. These songs convey just about every possible emotion I'm feeling about my predicament. I like how this mix gets more "serious" as it goes. It starts out as one of those "oooh, I've got a little crush" mixes and then by the time Black Lab and VAST come around, it's filled with passion and desperation. I promised myself as I was compiling the tracklisting for this one that I would avoid the cloying, sentimental songs but I couldn't resist "At My Most Beautiful." Now if life were only as good as it's depicted in the Del Amitri song...
