Comment:

This is my magnum opus, the story of my most significant romance to date detailed in song...and pretty accurately at that. Here's a song-by-song explanation:

1) our meeting on a bus, where she sat next to me, probably out of pity.
2) THE song of the spring of 1997 when we started hanging out together all the time
3) self-explanatory
4) ditto
5) reminds me of driving around without a care in the world
6) an "inside joke" of sorts but still fits well here
7) another wonderful driving song
8) the admission of love
9) communication starting to fail
10) trying to hold onto what may be falling apart
11) break-up impending due to mutual changes
12) the crushing break-up
13) regretting the break-up and wanting to get back together
14) going off to college and wishing she were there
15) getting together over winter break and deciding maybe there's still something left
16) getting back together(!)
17) happiness
18) she goes to England on a fellowship leaving me "across the sea"
19) break-up #2
20) "LOOK WHAT ALL THIS TALKING GOT US, BABY!"
21) a teary goodbye
22) so, do you ever think about me now?
23) a summary of sorts

Anyhow, that about does it. Dedicated to my ex-girlfriend. Wonder what she'd think about this...and I wonder what her mix about "us" would be like. Comments are appreciated!

No Lloyd Dobler following her to England? For shame. In any case, a ood mix, if one I'm sorry you had to make.

I often think of myself as a sort of Lloyd Dobler! Say Anything has long been one of my favorite movies. I did, by the way, visit her in England and that's actually about the time things started going badly. Anyhow, thanks for that great reference, that makes my night!
