Comment:
This is a little gimmicky and precious, perhaps, but it's a pair of imaginary soundtracks for two of my favourite contemporary directors: Paul Thomas Anderson and Wes Anderson. Thus the name, which is also sort of the title of a 1973 Sean Connery movie. Anyway, making this gave me an excuse to use a bunch of old wonderful horrible 70s radio rock that I never would otherwise; and it was fun to imagine the movies that might go along with these tunes. Side 2 (Wes) is more eclectic than side 1 (Paul Thomas), and would, I imagine, be the better film. But would Wes Anderson ever use a Super Furry Animals song in a movie? Probably not, but hey, it's my tape.Feedback:
Send this to P.T. and Wes. Now. Cool idea. Cool tape.
well done. i think i'd agree that the wes anderson film would be better, but both are pretty awesome. actually, am i the only one who thinks that wes anderson has some mixes he'd probably post here if someone asked him to?
yes
no doubt, brandt. anyone who incorporates music to such a loving degree into their films just has to have a box full of mixtapes stashed somewhere. fantastic idea and great mix, pm2k.
Hey, man. Bread helped shape my entire philosophy of life.
