Comment:

The hardest part about mixing for me is not finding the time to put a mix together, or a lack of mixable sides and tracks, but rather creating a unique combination of sounds, melodies, and cadences that flow from one to another as seamelessly as humanly possible. I can attribute this behavior to my years as a DJ and record store clerk and being in an environment that demanded smooth segues and transitions(on the radio, anyway, not so much when you're trying to sell Stone Temple Pilots albums). But we all can detect in our everyday lives a beat, a rhythm, a sort of organic soundtrack that follows us where ever we go, accompanying everything we do. It's that score that I try to capture in some of my more elaborate mixes, sometimes unsuccessfully.
