Comment:

Mix for Marty Andersen. There are a couple themes here, starting with the first four songs. This past Thursday nite was the launch of the Bashful cd "amour fou", so I've included a song each by the players, starting with Benedict Moleta, who, unfortunately, does not have anything out yet, but he did play this Mojave 3 song; next up was Simone, from Spokaine; then Chris from the Tigers and lastly, Kim and Kathy from Bashful. Tracks 6 and 7 are bands that are playing in Perth this weekend and # 8 are playing on Valentines Day. Tracks 9 thru 11 all feature either vocals/music by members of Sodastream or recording/mixing (in the case of the Luckies). Side 2 doesn't really have any themes, but just features music that I've been playing recently, such as the 7" of Karl Smith's, "the sky is beginning to bruise", which gets better each listen. Title taken from Mojave 3.

Okay, it appears after more careful inspection that there are some women on this. Just ignore me. Two thirds of the time I don't know what I'm talking about! Carry on.

Yeah, the female-fronted bands on here are spokaine, low and the particles - and the violin/viola player from Bashful is, of course, a woman.
