Comment:

Not a mix in the true sense, since it started as merely a way to transfer some of my scattered mp3s onto an audio disc. However, I try to create a loose theme for the tracks, and here it is. This mix is just a mish-mash of pop rock, notso-popular rock, UK and US mixed together, all in a gooey, swanky mess of fun. Hope SOMEBODY likes it besides me! I know my choices are a bit obvious and lack the obscurity people love, but hey--music is music, and the love for it likewise.

Female of the Species is classic -- looks like a fun mix. Hmmm... but obscurity for obscurity's sake? An unfair assessment. Having been accused of being intentionally weird by people who won't stray from the confines of commercial radio, I have to say it boils down to the love of music and curiosity about new frontiers... and being annoyed by the repetition of heavy rotation. There is mainstream music I like which seems pointless to purchase when it's being played out everywhere and my wishlist of obscure music is already overwhelmingly long. I know I miss out on some things that way, but I have limited buying power, and there are sacrifices made when I am weighing the options. If it's something I'll never see again, I'm impelled to get it while I can. Sometimes I am so haunted by what I hear, I spend years tracking it down -- not for vanity, but because it moves me. It's a frustrating process, and in a town full of xenophobic classic rockers, nobody thinks I'm cool because of my tastes! Anyway, nice artwork, as well!
