Comment:

Mix for trade with Phallexlloyd. He wanted to hear some west aussie bands, so I put a few on here - summer suns, dm3, bashful, panics, spinsters, karl smith and sodastream (karl smith's band - they don't actually live in perth anymore, but their roots are here). I put the summer suns (from their self-titled mini lp) next to dm3 and bashful because this particular line-up of the summer suns featured dom mariani, of dm3, and bashful is kim williams (lead guy of the summer suns) new band. The spinsters are a perth equivalent of the blake babies. Lots of people to thank here, will just mention names, not tracks, as it would take too long - bryan cox, marty andersen (two tracks), james roberts, alex, and rob conroy. Title courtesy of dom mariani/dm3.

This mix makes me dance on my bed like a giddy teenage girl. I adore the Blake Babies, so you must expose me to the Spinsters one of these days.

Many moons ago when I first began to use this site, I used my true name. Upon posting a mix, which meant the world to me and made my heart grow with just a listen, I was soundly roasted by Robby Conroy. He made me feel real bad and I cried like a baby. I hope this never happens to you Sue, 'cause it hurt me real bad. I love your mixes. You love music in a way people like Conroy only pretend to.

This is so damn great. The Byrds, the Apartments, the Chamber Strings, D.O.P.H (great, great song), Belle & Sebastian, Darren Hanlon (another great, great song). This mix could have come out of my record collection. I'm glad you've found use for the DM3 song (great use of the lyrics for the title) and the Vulgar Boatmen song (I think this is my favorite song of all time). BTW--I've just gotten the Stems' "At First Sight". It's great. You should check it out if you haven't already.
