guilty confession: i still listen to this tape, sometimes (cringe, blush). in early 1995 i got a job working at a downtown manhattan movie theater called the angelika -- a kind of ritzy art film house. we played music through the lobby, and since i usually worked nights and weekends, everyone wanted the music to be upbeat and pop-esque. so i made this tape. about 10 of my friends demanded copies, so i guess i shouldn't be *too* embarrassed ....
