Mix for my friend Kim, who, over the past month, has made me a few cds (incl. the lovely one posted by yours truly a week or so back), so when I asked how I should repay him, he asked for a world music mix. Now Kim is someone who's tastes I admire (and is someone who I often get musical advice from) so hopefully he'll like this mix. His only stipulation was that he didn't want to hear any bands that sounded like "paul simon's backing band from graceland". So hopefully there aren't any on here. Props to my husband, who helped me in my selections (many of the picks on here are from cds he's gotten over the years).

great stuff, sue. lots of variety on here. i've been wanting to use one of sheila chandra's "speaking in tongues" songs on a mix lately.
