Comment:

local entertainment magazine columnist puts a call-out last month for mix tapes featuring at least 5 local bands. a month passes, and apparently only 2 people respond. an easy way to get one's name in print, i suppose -- here's my attempt. (*) denotes what i consider "local" to ann arbor, but because i get annoyed at a lot of this east/west side snobbery, my definition of local means michigan-based, within a couple hours driving distance. my family's in kalamazoo, which is a 90 minute drive straight down I-94. the way i figure it, kalamazoo is just as local to ann arbor as detroit is to ann arbor, because the likelihood that a k-zoo band would play in this college town is just as high, if the elitists around here would actually book them. wow, this comment box has turned into a bit of a rant. anyway, yea, this is a mix tape with local bands on it.
