I used CCR's "Midnight Special" as a starting point when making Can't Escape the Memory. It was a favorite song of mine when I was little. I also used to love Jerry Jeff Walker's "London Homesick Blues" as a kid. And I still do. So I decided to include a newer rendition of the song done by Papa M. The mix kind of became a blend of old favorites along with a few newer favorites. The title was inspired by a line from Sunny Day Real Estate's "Days were Golden," which is the last track here. It seemed to fit well with the concept.
