Comment:

A fun "welcome to my musical tastes" mix for a very close friend that I don't get to spend much time with, in person. I had a really hard time of it because there were SO many songs I wanted to put on - I didn't want to make it overly punked out or screamy or folky or misleading, I guess. I think I covered the bases pretty well. Got lots of grrl singers, plenty of screamy noisy stuff, lots of local bands, some old classics, some new stuff I'm crazy about. There's a great string of raunch on the first side (tracks 3-6) because she's fabulously raunchy, and there's a string of very political stuff on the second side because that's what *I'm* all about. I like this mix a lot because the transitions are really smooth in most places, and every now and then, BAM, you get Op Ivy out of nowhere, or BAM there's the weakerthans after a quiet exit from World B. yeah. I might copy it before I give it to her.

This type of mix is really hard to do just because the scope of musical taste can't be limited to one CD very easily.
This looks like a good one. I recommend copying it liberally and giving it to other

friends as well. I can never answer the "what kind of music..." question with any satisfactory answer.
