Comment:
Tape for P the Swede. Theme is all-Australian, all the time, as Peter recently made me an all-Swedish mix. The tracks with * next to them represent Perth (or former) bands. The styles are all over the place on here - there's power-pop, indie pop, indie rock, folk, post-punk and more. This trade came about because Peter asked me about a band which turned out to be The Welcome Mat - a band featuring Wayne Connolly, who's now a well known producer who's worked with DM3, You Am I, Evan Dando and more.Feedback:
thank you, looking forward to hear this, i have heard Wedding, p..(very long time ago) Apartments, Lucksmiths, Dm3, Smudge and of course Go-betweens who actually are one of mu fav bands of all time esp. 16 lovers lane (5 out 5)your mixes will be in the post tomorrow.
aussie aussie aussie!!! rock on sue...another lovely one (darren, augie march, paul, WPA, ruck rover...etc etc etc)
I'd probably like to hear this, Ms. EW. What I know on it is very cool...
this really does look fantastic (as does p's swedish mix). of course, i'm only familiar with about 5 songs, but...
Outstanding mix Sue, but where's the Men At Work? ;) Seriously, this mix looks as good as a cute cuddley koala.
i think i like this a lot, despite knowing about 6 of the songs.
Men at Work? Yeah, they may have fit, Ion, but I figured Peter would already know them and I wanted to make this an intro to cool Aussie music for him - and, as you can see - he knows a bunch of them already - so I guess a lot of my picks weren't obscure enough for him! And, yeah, koalas are cute - but watch out, they can scratch you! ;)
this is a really cool mix and a great idea..
i'm actually going to be studying abroad in Perth for all of next year, so it's especially interesting to me. :o)

Great. Australia (and New Zealand)produce some of the best rock and roll in the world.
i have actuallty seen Men at work live once, suporting Bowie at the "serious moonlight tour" back in 83 and they're really bad, i think i prefer these bands ;-)
mm. i miss The Welcome Mat...
oh bravo kids
um weddings parties anything?
errr Aren;t they perf or former?

Hey, nice mix. Wat to go with perth. Where does that andrew ryan song come from, I didn't know he had a solo release?
That's one of my all-time favorite Paul Kelly songs.
