Comment:
So, I've been away from this site for several weeks, but in the interim, my wife let me buy myself an early birthday/father's day present from her and my son: a component CD burner that lets me burn vinyl on CD. This is a big deal to me since probably 2/3 of my total music collection is on vinyl. This CD is made up of nothing but 45 r.p.m. singles (except for the Costello song, from his new album, that provided the inspiration), most of them originals (although Flatt & Scruggs, Donovan, and Zeppelin are reissues). I really like playing 45s--to me it's a much more TACTILE experience than listening to a CD, especially back in the ancient times when you could stack a bunch of singles on top of each other and just let 'em rip. I guess this CD is about as close as I can get to that experience now. I feel like this could be the first in a series.Feedback:
This looks great, Rich.
Great idea and a nice looking mix!
What a fun eclectic mix. And yes, Sonny Bono is a god among men. Not sure I can get behind Edie Brickell, though :-)
I'm gonna be doing a similar bunch with a stack of reggae 45s I've accumulated over the past year... only I'll be using a minidisc and an MP3 software program to make the job a little easier (I like to edit my sound files before I burn them)
