Comment:

Another volume of the "Sue EW and Kim W" radio show, on Perth community station RTR-fm. Show is "alt-country and beyond". Every city should have a community radio station - if there isn't one in your area, plead with the authorities to set one up! or start your own. Thanks to Gerry McDonald, for the Vulgar Boatmen track; Buglady, for the Rugburns; and to Ion Moe, for Phil Ochs - Ion, by the way, we did play your "long distance dedication" to your fiancee - yeah, they are cheesy (dedications - they always remind me of the 70s, and Casey Kasem), but you did request a good song (byrds, "have you seen her face") so we had to play it for you. And it also fit in really well in the Byrds bracket - that band in the middle of it, The Flying Circus, are an Aussie band who are more well known for bubblegum pop, but they also had a huge Byrds facination, so "groovy night" (is this the worst title to a song, ever?) is their attempt at sounding like the Byrds - and they do. If anyone is interested, you can pick up the feed for RTR on www.rtrfm.com.au

I love the Al Caiola opening! Though I've never heard much of this(or many "alt-country" bands, for that matter) your sets always seem way cool. I'll have to listen in one of these days.

Buglady: yes, I do - and I can send you a copy of the tapes if you like (2x60min.) Rob: The Pedro track had to be cut, due to time constraints - we were due out of there at 11:00 to make way for "shear queer" and wanted to finish w/Ribeye Bros.

Looks great Sue. Thanks so much for playing my request and doing the cheesy dedication. You rule. Also it's nice to see San Diego's own Rugburns, via Buglady. And what kind of show is "Shear Queer"? Keep reaching for the stars...

Ion, what kind of show would you think "shear queer" is? yup, you guessed it. But seriously, it's a show on gay issues and features a lot of music you wouldn't otherwise hear on rtr, such as Kylie.
