Comment:

Well, there wasn't music actually in the air, but it was out there, heaps of it, right in front of us. I speak of the record fair Kim and I went to today - thousands and thousands of records for us to look at and fight the other record geeks to get to it. So, upon coming home, I decided to put together a mix filled with buys from today, as well as other vinyl collected over the past year. It was great going with Kim, as, if there was something I missed (such as Jack Lee, who's "hanging on the telephone" was later covered by Blondie), he would pick it out for me and tell me I should buy it. Of course, this meant I spent way more than I intended, but it was money well spent. Title courtesy of Bob Mould.

the monkees --> boyce+hart, nice themework. yeh, that record collectors fair was some fun, spent all my money on a swag of supergrass singles, and had to leave almost immediately.

Sounds like you made a pretty good haul! We're on the way to the swap meet right now, so I hope I have the same luck as you. "Hanging on the Telephone" was also recorded by the Nerves, a trio which included Jack Lee. Doesn't the 1910 Fruitgum Co. do a great cover of that Teenage Fanclub song? ;)

And Paul Collins (of the Beat) was also a member of the Nerves, as you probably already know, Ion. Hope you had as much luck as I did yesterday!
