Comment:

I made this CD for a boy I was dating. He was taking a trip from Chicago to Toronto. So I figured he might like a little aural tour of I-94, beginning with songs by Chicago musicians, dipping into my high school years in Kalamazoo, flirting with Detroit, and ending with a mishmosh of Canucks. He'd never heard of Wesley Willis before, so it seemed appropriate to kick things off with a little "rock on Chicago." What's the supersecret special track, you ask? Bryan Effin' Adams and "Summer of '69" -- representing Canada with the song everyone hates to love. NB: There are a few non-regional tracks (Superchunk, the Soledad Brothers) but their songs pertain to the geography at hand. Pardon the immodesty, but this is such a clever cd. If somebody gave it to me, boy, would I be a happy roadtripper.

BUT OH NO, the boy was completely apathetic about the excellent treat. He mumbled a lame 'thanks' and didn't even listen to it. Assclown of the Year!
