Comment:
Edition 5 of the "bigstar" alt-country and beyond radio show on Perth community radio station RTR-fm (2 hour show). Got lots of calls last evening, including one from my mother, in Boston - I told her about the show and she listened live, via the net. She said it sounded clearer than listening to the community radio station broadcasting in the next town. Thanks to some fellow Aotm'ers for some tracks, incl. Marty Andersen, for Vulgar Boatmen; Rob Conroy, for Mountain Goats, Posies and Big Star; DJ Salieri, for Beachwood Sparks; and Gerry McDonald, for NRBQ. To listen live, go to www.rtrfm.com.au.Feedback:
Thanks for the mention, Sue. This is a really nice compilation
Sorry, Sue, forgot to mention how much I am enjoying your tapes. I am working my way through them and finding lots of really unknown goodies!
Hey, I'm glad to see you got the VB disk. I always assume stuff I send overseas will get lost in the mail. This, as usual, is excellent. Roger McGuinn--I haven't listened to "Back From Rio" in ages. It's a great album. Nice pick.
Absolutely lovely mix, Sue. One of my favorites of yours... and you're welcome for the tracks, esp as you picked some of my favorites.
a very good show as usual, someday i gotta listen to it too ;-)
Yup, another outstanding show. Who's gonna fill in for you when you're in Boston?
I think Kim'll do just fine without me to help him out! But I'll only be gone for a month, so look for the next installment in late July!
You put together one heck of a radio show!
Wish I'd have known...! Looks like an outstanding show.....
i've been looking through some of your older tapes ... you make really great mixes (this one no exception)! i'd love to trade sometime...
Another great looking mix, Sue!
is that joseph arthur from glide? i think that was him name...
This show looks great, Roger McGuinn is a hero, Dan Penn too, Great Songs:ohia & Lambchop, etc etc ;~)
Paint - not the same person - joseph arthur is a solo artist (and very much alive, unlike the other Arthur). Glide featured William Arthur, I think.
Great job! I'd love to hear this show.
those folkswingers proved good driving music on the way to the inglewood.
this looks really really great.
i swoon whenever i see royal city on a mix... i'd love to hear this - don't have much of this stuff. back to RTR online i go! near-sighted
This mix rocks. I particularly enjoy the Posies, Big Star, Even, and Replacement pics.
Sue....
Just heard that Cotton Mather piece, it is a WEEPER! Makes me wish I had Bose 80-foot tower speakers....! (So the neighborhod could enjoy it too!)
