May 25, 2000: I wanted a tape for strutting down the street with headphones on, lip-synching lasciviously.

how many times do you use the same song?

Yeah, using the same song is often a problem. I can't be the only one on this site who does this, can I? And do you forget why you made each tape?

Things I've learned: post only one or two mixes per week, at the most; make damn sure they're actually recent in terms of date, or you will hear about it (in a bad way); don't post a mix if you've already posted one featuring the same song; and sarcasm is apparently a good substitute for actual feedback. Please check my apology on the Forum message board, although I don't mind saying sorry every time.

i think most people here have used at least a few of their favorite songs on more than one mix, which is totally appropriate. some songs are complex enough that they need different contexts to bring out different aspects. i know some people do their best to never repeat a song from mix to mix. but, uh, "foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds" and all that...

and i think you've done more than enough apologizing for what really is nothing more than a minor gaffe in etiquette.

I agree with teapin, and I'll add that I like seeing some older mixes.

Thanks again Teapin, and thank you Mo...usually when I use a song more than once, it's for a different person each time (unless you're my friend Mark and the song is "A Million Miles Away" by the Plimsouls - don't know why I always forget). I also try not to put two songs by the same artist on the same mix - or at least not on the same side, if it's a tape - but sometimes it's inevitable.
