Comment:

February 27, 1998: Sean and Ben were driving to Montreal to visit Grant on his birthday the next day (my birthday as well, coincidentally). They asked for a mixed tape for the trip; I put this in my mailbox when I was finished, and they collected it as they set off early the next morning. On the cover, I'd sketched a crappy picture of the front seat - the passenger babbling on, oblivious to the annoyance of the driver (wide-eyed, clenching the steering wheel tightly). I've been told that this is pretty much how the journey went.

i love this mix. gil scott-heron to tom waits is one of the best one-two punches i've seen in a while. and that badalmanti track! and "alphabet street" to "the passenger"! and that pixies/dandies/talking heads part kills, too.
