Comment:
this tape was made by my friend Zen and I.this tape needs to be about 120 minutes longer to do these two bands justice. but we decided to cram it all into a 90 minute tape for a friend of ours.
I didn't have all the Bright Eyes stuff. I know most of his better stuff is on sample albums and such. but I don't have the money to own them. and I didn't put anything off of "letting off the happiness" and very little from "fevers and mirrors" because the person this was sent to already had those albums.
Feedback:
Well, I hardly know any bright eyes, but there are some nice eels picks on here. Bad News!!!! Not read yet live. Flower. The acoustic guitar version of it is good, too, though.
I'm glad you dig the Eels stuff. It was hard to put together ... I ended up leaving out a lot of very important songs either due to my own personal prefrences or because they were so mainstream that I thought the person the tape was for might have already heard 'em. But ya, I think it turned out okay.
nice. that's in interesting pair. it's not obvious, but both groups seem to have a simlar sensibility. i defintely would have included "i will be grateful for this day" by bright eyes and "packing blankets" by the eels though.
"Packing Blankets" is definately a top Eels song. But I think 'Fucker', 'P.S. You Rock My World', 'My Lucky Day In Hell', 'Climbing To The Moon', 'Mental', 'Efils God', 'Daisies Of The Galaxy' and 'Dead of Winter' would have had to have been included before I could even begin thinking about 'Packing Blankets'. So many songs to pick from. I could never perfect 45 minutes I don't think.
