Comment:

I made this tape a long long time ago when I frist started making mixes and mowing lawns. I just recently found it in a box of old tapes and listened to it today. The only thing that makes lawn mowing in the summer bareable is music.

I'll take a guess and say this mix tape was made in mid-1997. This is about as good as any mix tape I would've made back then (before I got into indie rock). Although I would've repeated artists more often, I know, which I avoid doing now.

So your point is, these songs were good in 1997 (your pre-indie rock days), but not good now? Because the artists don't fit into some elite pardigm? If Enon had written "Big Bang Baby," or Varnaline had written "King of New Orleans," the indie rock community would be gushing all over it. We're drowning in alterna-crap the last ten years, but sometimes a good song is a good song is a good song. Just my opinion.

I am not sure where you got your point from. I never said these songs aren't good. I still like these songs a lot ... hence the reason I posted it. I am not a big fan of all this new indie rock stuff. In fact I have never even heard of Enon or Varnaline.

Oh, I was just referring to the feedback before mine. I thought it was a little condescending.
