Comment:

God knows that there are enough Beatles mixes on this site to make even the most devoute fan sick, but I've been stranded without most of my music for the past few days, and I found this old mix tape I made like a year and a half ago for a girl who told me the Beatles couldn't rock. Some of these are still a little poppy, but I think it proved my point fairly well. Now I'm kinda glad I never gave it to her...

Yer preaching to a convert here but I agree, this makes the point nicely. Maybe one day that girl will see the Rooftop Concert -- that oughta do it!

Nothing wrong with another Beatles mix. And yes, they could rock. Some other examples: Back in the USSR, She's a Woman, I Saw Her Standing There. And their covers -- Twist & Shout, Kansas City, Rock & Roll Music. I could go on.

"He got Ono sideboard..." ;-) My favorite band. I particularly love tracks 2, 4, 9, 12, 14, 15, 19, 20, 21, 23 and 25.

And there goes Rob correcting me again : )

This time though I did it on purpose...that's just one of those lyrics once I misheard it for long enough, that now, even long after I found out what it actually is, I still can't help but sing it the wrong way.

I'm glad you did this. I get people saying that to me all the time. "Helter Skelter" and "Hey Bulldog" say it all. But where's "I Want You"?

Like I said, I made this like a year and a half ago, and while both are two of my favs now, I Want You and I Saw Her Standing There didn't do to much for me at the time despite how much they deserved to be on here...maybe I ought make a Vol. 2. Hmmm....

Wow, this is fantastic. Would have dropped some of the ballads though ("Let It Be," "Something") if "rock" was what you were going for. Otherwise, this kicks.
