Comment:

another installment of the 'bigstar' alt-country and *beyond* radio show, heard on perth's community station, rtr-fm, and on the web, at www.rtrfm.com.au. jack & the beanstalk, still, and tricks are all local bands, although joe algeri, from jatb now lives in sweden. kim screwed up on the bob mould song - he thought he'd cued up 'wishing well', but oops! not that 'wishing well' is really an 'alt-country' tune, but it's a lot closer than 'poison years'! but that's why it's fun to listen to/host community radio. does anyone know anything about the 'nancy & lee, again' lp that i took the 'big red balloon' song from? i found it second hand in a record store in boston, and neither kim nor i knew that it even existed. thanks to jer fairall, for the mt. goats song.

Fine work as always Sue. When is your show on? I'd really like to check it out. Didn't see any archived shows on the rtrfm site.

curtis - it's on from 9-11pm, thursday evenings, western australia time (so if you're in, say the east coast of the USA, then it's 12 hours ahead). as far as shows archived, rtr isn't that high tech. i co-host the show with kim every chance i get (and he's meant to host it every other week), and usually always record it.

Beautiful. I see you even played my favorite Long Ryders song. Did your listening audience miss you while you were away?

yeah, ion, i kinda played the long ryders song for you (because how you told me it was your fave) but i will put it on a mix for you in the future - as soon as i am able to get a burner. as for the listening audience, i dunno if they missed me, but kim tells me that there are always lots more phone calls when i'm on than when it's just him - so who knows!
