"Merry Christmas, Dammit!"
Comment:
29. Gumby's farewell 30. UNLISTED TRACK: Ralph Sinatra - "Christmas When You're Dead." This is an Xmas mix I put together a year or two ago. I think it hangs together exceptionally well. Some of the weirder and more alternative stuff I got from annual Xmas CDs from the local alternative radio station (the "world famous KROQ"). Other stuff is from a punk rock Xmas album I have and various other CDs. One song I meant to include but forgot to was "Feliz Navi-Nada" by El Vez. I'll probably be re-doing the CD prior to this year's Xmas for that reason. I'll also be adding dialogue from the SNL sketch this set takes its name from (Eddie Murphy as Gumby in "The Gumby Christmas Special"). Other than that, I'll be keeping it as-is. Great mix, especially for the more cynical/Yuletide-weary folks. It even has a little Chanukah section. UPDATE, 12/15/02: Just putting finishing touches on the redux now. Includes the aforementioned "Feliz Navi-nada" and the Gumby Christmas special stuff, as well as the great Mike Flowers tune. Also omitted "A Very Heston Christmas," as it always stuck out like a sore thumb to me. Oh, and I shuffled some tracks around.
Feedback:
that's fun. 'tis the season, matey.
I'll be wanting this around Xmas time, or maybe sooner. Nice work.
Yeah, definitely entertaining. I'd like to get a hold of that Dickies track, myself... I can't find my vinyl copy.
Christmas at ground zero! Ha!
Can't go wrong with the singing dogs. Stiff Little Fingers preceeding Henry Winkler's holiday wish? Should we be reading anything into that?
