Comment:
First off, forgive the ethnic pseudo-slur of the title, it's actually a play on a friend's last name. Anyhow, I made this as a "going-off" if you will for a very good friend I'll miss at school. Even though it has more than it's share of requisite indie crap, most of the selections seemed to complement each other well and flow fairly nicely in the end. Spot the latent symbolism in some of the stuff...I dare ya. As always, commens and/or trades welcome/appreciated.Feedback:
Olivia tremor control, syd barrett and then the warlocks in a row! That's awesome... (as is the vanderslice song)...
yay circulatory system
nice stuff.
I dunno... this looks pretty fine to me, esp that sequence that antbabe pointed out.
aw come on, what's wrong with ethnic slurs? they make the world go round.
Very nice mix. Just wish it had been in cd form....
Hey, phuckin' Phil... You know damn well I love many of the songs here, and I'm just dying to comment... but for you I really need to give it a listen before I can. Yeah, I really would like to hear this so I could offer my infinitely insightful thoughts... (hint hint). Oh, and I'm glad to hear about the beard.
See, with you making mixes like this, there's simply no reason to so much as even glance at any other sorry excuse for a mix on this site. This installment continues your trend of mixes that delicately tread the line between inviting and inaccessible. Standout tracks abound (it would be excessive to list them by name) and even the filler on this tape would be standout material on the average mix. The robust tracklist of side one satisfies all musical demands without being too slutty about it, while at the same time balancing the masterfully executed psyched-out headiness of side two. It's so well rounded that the best track on either side is placed in the inverse of the other (2 and 19). It all adds up to a tape that is instantly enjoyable, very replayable, and more stimulating with each listen. You have earned the status of a true artiste, and therefore, my unwaivering respect. "You're one of the good ones, Stimpy."
