Comment:

Ah boy, this takes me back to those halcyon days when I was but a young mix-taper in high school. This was one of the first I'd ever produced, made for a road trip to Erie if memory serves. Sure it doesn't the obscure names that bring in the big comments, but I've gotta admit to loving all the songs I put on here. Ah, the pre-prentension days :). Some favorites are Pavement, with one of the best uses of fuzz ever and Yo La Tengo, which posseses, in my opinion the most heartrending solo of all time. Anyhow, gimme yr. feedback and i'll be forever eternally grateful.

This mix is a true classic - and whether they admit it or not, influenced at least one other mixer to jump wholeheartedly on the indie rock bandwagon. The reason is obvious... just look at the first side, for christ's sake! It's monumental. I can't quite say the same for side 2, although it boasts some of the heaviest hitters in spots 17 and 19. But side one... jeeze! You're right on to single out Pavement and YLT as favs. We're An American Band is among the very greatest songs of all time, plain and simple. That song is to music what this mix is to my personal mix universe.
