31)Zip A Dee Do Dah-Louis Armstrong; 32)Ain't Nobody Here But Us Chickens-Louis Jordan. This is a mix of fun songs to throw in the shuffle play for the kids who are going to be at our cookout later on today. This mix was inspired by a Ronco "20 Original Hits" album called "Don Kirshner Presents Fun Rock." I have been the sole owner of my copy of this album since its release in 1975. Does anyone else out there remember it (it's got a cat playing an electric guitar on the cover)? My first exposure to a bunch of songs on this CD was from "Fun Rock." The title is from the Sammy Davis Jr. song, which is on "Fun Rock." If I ever formed a band, I would seriously consider naming it The Groovy Lemon Pies. In addition to the older stuff, I've thrown more recent "fun rock" type songs on this mix by the likes of They Might Be Giants, Mighty Mighty Bosstones and, of course, Larry the Cucumber.

This looks like a lot of fun (not to overuse that word, but it's definitely the best way to describe the vibe of this mix). Interesting title, as I had a Hostess Lemon Fruit Pie for the first time in over fifteen years just last week... heh.

Looks like great cookout music even if there are some grownups around. Is it true TMBG has put out a kids-music disc?

"Let's Get Together"?! I *love* "The Parent Trap"! I wanna come to your cookout. The Groovy Lemon Pies would be a great band name, by the way.

This must have been a blast at your bbq! We had fun at our dinner in Trenton, even without anything this zany (of course, I did mention "Basque Separtists" at one point, which my mom thought was pretty weird :-S

Like a Lemon Pie this should have had faces scrunching just a little, the "scrunch of guilty pleasure glee!" Hope it all went according to your grand design!
