Comment:
I'm back! Well, got my cds back from being in storage for the past 3 months. This mix is for Lucas Mayhew, in country Victoria, Aus. He had some requests, and said he liked "indie pop" and aussie music. I lost the notes I took on his requests, so I could only put on the ones I remembered - Ken Stringfellow, Best Friends Group, Mag Fields, (early) Lucksmith, Smog and Thermos Cardy. He also suggested the Handsome Family, but all I own of their stuff is one song, so, then I thought I'd put on a Lee Hazlewood song (as the Handsome Family reminds me of Lee), but I decided to put a lee cover on instead, and knowing that he likes Godstar/Smudge, I decided on a lee cover by Evan Dando, who's friends with the guys in Godstar/Smudge. The Bashful song is by my boyfriend Kim, and it's the shortest song he's ever written, coming in at 32 or 33 seconds long. The perfect song to end a side with. Title courtesy of My Morning Jacket. *full title of Tigers cd "it hath been falsely supposed that all tigers be female and they engender copulation with the winde". Addendum - not all of these tracks come from cds - at least 6 are from my vinyl collection, but I couldn't have made this mix without getting my cds back.Feedback:
from what i can recognize on this, it looks great. nice hazlewood to dando connection.
looks smashing as always
Looks great Sue. Love that Go-Betweens track.
love this mix
Looks superb Sue. Must be nice to have your CDs back in your hands (and CD player) again. I'm sure your fellow Aussie will love this. Nice WCPAEB pick -- one of my favorites by them.
Great Sue...! (all that treasure at your fingertips again, nice!) It is most glorious you are back up and mixin'....!
More stuff for me to desperately seek out...yay!
Very nice, Sue. Good to see you back. :) Awesome mix and I especially love the MMJ and TFC tracks.
This looks phenomenal, Sue... one of your best, I think.
Welcome back Sue =) This looks terrific!
Great stuff...!
The most awaited return of the year!!!!! YESSSS
hey this is nice
hey sue, i really really like this mix. it's a great soundtrack for the incoming springtime weather - driving around listening to the lucksmiths and ken stringfellow etc, aahh, life is good!! i really like the tigers and panics tracks, bands i've nevr heard before and the p76 and summer suns is really nice too. it took me a while to realise the smog song doesn't actually go "i break horses - they don't tend to bend" - thought that was a bit gruesome, but anyway. i think i pretty much like everything here so i won't go on an on. hopefully you've got another mix for me some time down the track. thanks!! :)
ooop, i forgot to ask - who are the saturday people and where are they from. the singer sounds familiar to me - has he been in any other bands?...
you are a genius
