Comment:

A little somethin' somethin' I've been working on. A little bit of maple syrup, a little bit of softwood lumber, a little bit of durum, and a whole lot o gee-tars=a heapin' helpin' of Canadiana. A gift from me to y'all on the eve of what is destined to be the next big American national Holiday. No Canadian mix is complete without Anne Murray and Paul Anka, remember this people.

snowbird just seals the deal, doesn't it? i'd say that's in the running for highest ratio of canadian canonicity v. actual listening enjoyment (currently at about 1,000,000:1)

You know, funny thing about Snowbird...Here in Winnipeg, we had a kids' noon-hour show called "Archie and Friends", put on by a man my dad went to school with, the late "Uncle" Bob Schwartz. He was a ventriloquist by trade, and had a variety of puppets (including the eponymously-titled Archie Wood), one of which was a dalmatian puppy named Petite. Her big song was Anne Murray's 'Snowbird', sped up from 33 1/3 to about 78 speed, to apparently match her speaking voice (high-pitched, duh). His show was replaced in the late 80s by a new show featuring local hero joey Gregorash, who performed the first true attack on America with his "New Wedding Song," which was soon after cancelled to make room for soap operas. The moral of the story? I like stories.

Great (?) mix...all you need is a little Haywire to make it even better!
